In just a few months, Apple will introduce a feature in iOS 12, the operating system that runs on all iPhones and iPads, that will allow parents, on an App by App basis, to control how much time a member of their family can spend per day using that app. This comes as a welcome in most families, ours included.
My kids aren’t exactly disconnected from reality when it comes to their use of digital devices. We are one of those families that doesn’t need to enforce a “no phones at the dinner table” policy. However, there are days that my kids spend more time than we would like staring at a small screen, mostly on apps such as Instagram and Snapchat.
